Nac edryched neb i gloffi
  Arnaf, am fy mod yn ddu;
Haul, a gwres ei belyderau,
  Yn tywynnu'n danbaid arnaf sy:
    Mae a'm cuddia
  Cysgod llenni Solomon.

Let no-one look to falter
  Upon me, because I am black;
Sun, and the heat of its rays,
  Are shining fiercy upon me:
    Cover me shall
  The shadow of Solomon's curtains.

Let not any for my blackness
